Lifestyle photographer specializing in newborn and family photography in South Carolina, Pola Seeley.

Lexington newborn photographer

When I was a teenager, my walls were covered in Anne Geddes baby posters — a few are still hanging in my dad’s apartment today. I’ve always been drawn to babies and motherhood, and becoming a newborn and family photographer feels like a dream fulfilled.

Long before I became a mother myself, caring for little ones was already part of my life. I earned a degree in early childhood education, worked in infant childcare, and later served as a live-in nanny for newborn twins. Even as a child, I was the one holding babies at family gatherings.
These experiences shaped how I approach my work — with calm, patience, and deep respect for children and mothers alike.

It is an honor to walk alongside families and preserve these fleeting years — the ones you will one day look back on and miss.

I’m originally from Poland and now live in Columbia, South Carolina with my husband and our three children. Each of them was born in a different state, and our days are filled with homeschooling, baking sourdough (and plenty of chocolate chip cookies), and caring for far too many houseplants.

My life is rooted in Christ. I love Jesus and hope to visit Rome one day. When my children are older and sleeping through the night, I would love to serve families by photographing births as well.

About My Sessions

Most sessions take place in your home during the day — typically between 10am and 12pm — or outdoors near sunset, about an hour before the light fades.

I offer gentle guidance but do not force poses. We may create a few traditional “frame” images, but the session is largely child-led. We run, explore, tickle, snuggle, and laugh. My goal is to capture your relationships — not perfect smiles toward the camera.

You don’t need to perform or prepare emotions. Simply focus on loving your family. From that, honest connection unfolds, and meaningful images follow.

I look forward to documenting your family’s life with care and intention.

xo,
Pola

A Gentle Reminder

Be honest — when was the last time you printed your photographs?

It’s easy to let them live on your phone. But one day your children will want to see what life felt like — the home they grew up in, the way you held them, the small ordinary beauty of their childhood.

Will they have an album to turn through? Will future generations see where they came from?

Your everyday moments are worth preserving. I would be honored to help bring them off your screen and into your hands — through albums, prints, and heirlooms that tell your family’s story.

Pola is phenomenal! She is equally skilled as she is gentle. Over the past two years, we have hired her to photograph our family after the birth of our children and we have no regrets. Her interactions with my wife and children had such a sweet fondness to them and we are extremely grateful for her time and talents.
